Laugarvegur Trail is the most popular hiking trail in Iceland. It is a 4-5 day hike through the interior.
Huts in the Wintertime
During the wintertime the FI huts are not in operation. At that time, booking in advance is possible at our office in Reykjavik.
Organised Hiking Tours
Every year FI offers a variety of tours around Iceland. The schedule for next year will be introduced in January 2011.

The Icelandic Touring Association
The aim of The Iceland Touring Association, founded in 1927, is to promote and organize traveling within the country.
The ITA owns and operates numerous mountain huts where hikers and other travelers can get a sleeping bag accommodation (pre-booking necessary).
The ITA also offers a variety of tours all the year round: Day tours (hiking, cross country skiing or bus tours), weekend tours (Friday evening through Sunday) and longer tours.
