Adventure hiking holiday: diverse walks, geology, bird watching, fauna and historical sites.

Meet up in Húsabakki in Svarfaðardalur on Sunday 11th July at 8pm. Accommodation in house.

Day 1. Monday: Hiking of "Vikið" or around Karlsárfjall (about 6 hours walk and about 770 m elevation).

Day 2: Hike to Gljúfrárjökull. First part of the trip by tractor. Highlight of the trip is a natural arch (about 7 hours walk and 400 m elevation).

Day 3: Hike around Hnjótafjall (8 to 9 hours walk 850 m elevation).
Day 4: Walk up Hvarfshnjúkur. Nice view from the mountain top to Dalvík, Eyjafjörður to Grímsey (about 8 hours walk and about 900 m elevation).

Day 5: Easy hike around Svarfaðardalur (4 hour walk).
