In this backpack trip you get opportunity to see the magnificent nature of Jökulfirðir and Austurstönd.

Three nights in tents, otherwise sleeping accommodation in huts. Joint food in Bolungarvík and Reykjafjörður that is not included in price.

Trip members meet up in Norðurfjörur the night before the departure and sleep in the FÍ hut at Valgerisstaðir.

Day 1: Boat trip Wednesday 1. July from Norðurfjörður to Hornvík with view of the spectacular Hornbjarg cliff from the sea. Walk to Veiðileysufjörður over Hafnarskarð where we camp in Bæjardalur.

Day 2: Walk to Kvíarnúpur, where there is a good view over Jökulfjörður and to Drangjökull. Walk continues to Lónafjörður where we camp.

Day 3: Walk by the sea to Miðkjós, Einbúi and Sópandi in Lónafjörður where we camp.

Day 4: From Sópandi we walk to Hyrnukjölur and Þrengsli, where the there is a nice canyon. Walk to Bolungarvík where we stay in hut.

Day 5: Enjoy Bolungarvík.

Day 6: Walk to Reykjarfjörður by Furufjörður, Svartaskarð and Þaralátursfjörður.

Day 7: Enjoy Reykjarfjörður where there is a nice pool. Grill party in the evening.

Day 8: Boat trip to Norðurfjörður Wednesday 8. July.
