Svarfaðardalur – 6 days

Guide: Kristján Eldjárn Hjartarson farmer at Tjörn

All in one: diverse walks, geology, bird watching, fauna and historical sites.

Meet up in Húsabakki in Svarfaðardalur on Sunday 5th July at 20:00, where we stay the whole trip.

1. Monday 6th July: Walk ,,Vikið“ or around Karlsárfjall. (about 6 hours walk and about 770 m elevation)

2.Tuesday 7th July: Walk to Gljúfrárjökull. First part of the trip by tractor. Stop by stone bridge. (about 7 hours walk and 400 m elevation)

3. Wednesday 8th July: Walk around Hnjótafjall. (8 to 9 hours walk 850 m elevation.)

4. Thursday 9^th July: Walk up Hvarfshnjúkur. Nice view from the mountaintop to Dalvík, Eyjafjörður to Grímsey. (about 8 hours walk and about 900 m elevation)

5. Friday 10th July: Walk around Svarfaðardalur. (easy 4 hour walk)
