Skagfjordsskáli is located by the roots of Langidalur in Thorsmork not far from Krossa river.  The lodge has two floors and it accommodates up to 75 people (in bunkers with mattresses). The ground floor includes two small cooking rooms, a large dining area and two dormitories in addition to a roomy entrance hall.   A sleeping loft is on the second floor.  The lodge is heated with oil-stoves that are also used for cooking.  The cooking rooms are equipped with pans, plates, glasses and cutlery.
WC-facilities and showers are in a separate house.  Furthermore, there is a guest house for day visitors, a small hut for 2-4 persons and a small shop.  Wardens are appointed during the summer.

There are several beautiful hiking routes from Skagfjordsskali .  Valahnúkur can easily be accessed by foot and you are rewarded by a beautiful view on the top.  To name a few places among interest is Husadalur, Tindfjallajokull and Eyjafjallajokull.  Most people also end there “Laugarvegur” hike in Langidalur
