Lost and found

Ferðafélag Íslands will make every effort to assist with the recovery of lost items. However, it should be noted that it is not always possible to retrieve all belongings.

If you believe you have left an item in the hut where you stayed, please contact the respective hut as soon as possible. If the item is found, it will be labeled with your name and sent to our office in Reykjavík. Items may be collected at the office or shipped by mail - please note that shipping costs will be at your expense. Ferðafélag Íslands cannot arrange or guarantee the transfer of items between huts; items can only be transported from the hut in which they are found to the Reykjavík office.

Ferðafélag Íslands reserves the right to dispose of items that are in unusable condition.

For clarity, items are categorized below as valuables and non-valuables, along with information regarding handling and storage duration.
