Booking Information

To secure your stay, advance booking and payment are required. Without a confirmed reservation, we cannot guarantee availability.

Payment Process:

• Once we confirm your requested dates, you will receive a secure payment link.
• Payment must be made online using a bank card, we accept both credit and debit cards.
• Your booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

Confirmation:

• After payment is completed, your booking vouchers will be sent to your email address.

This online process helps minimize the risk of fraud and ensures a smooth reservation experience.

Refund Policy for Accommodation

Huts

When cancelling a hut booking, the following rules apply:

• Cancellation 56 days or more before the arrival date: 75% refund of the accommodation fee.
• Cancellation 55–21 days before the arrival date: 50% refund of the accommodation fee.
• Cancellation 20–0 days before the arrival date: No refund of the accommodation fee.

No refunds are issued due to weather conditions, natural events, delays, or if the guest does not show up.

Camping

When cancelling a tent booking, the following rules apply:

• Cancellation 2 days or more before the first booked date: Full refund.
• Cancellation 1 day before or on the first booked date: No refund.

A booking may be transferred between campsites after the trip has begun. No refunds are issued for changes.

No refunds are issued due to weather conditions, natural events, delays, or if the guest does not show up.

Booking Packages:

• 3-, 4-, and 5-night hut accommodation packages must be cancelled in full. Individual nights cannot be cancelled or refunded separately.

• When cancelling a hut booking, the following rules apply:

Bookings before 20 June or After 15 September

Running water may not be available at the huts. Guests must then bring their own water. Dry toilets are located at the huts.

Conditions may be difficult and potentially hazardous. Guests must be prepared for greater snow cover and more extreme weather conditions. Hikers are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate equipment and for assessing their own ability and experience. Guests are also referred to www.safetravel.is for further safety information.

If roads leading to Landmannalaugar are closed due to impassable conditions, guests will receive a 100% refund of all accommodation fees. This applies to bookings on the Laugavegur Trail.

The Iceland Touring Association emphasizes cooperation with the Environmental Agency of Iceland, the Icelandic Road Administration, and other relevant parties.

The opening and closing of huts are always subject to prevailing conditions. The protection of nature and the safety of hikers are given priority.

Insurances

FÍ does not insure their guests or their luggage. Guests travel at their own risk. FÍ urges their guests to buy travel insurance.

The weather in Iceland is unpredictable so expect all kinds of weather. Never wear jeans or cotton next to your skin and bring wind and waterproof jacket and trousers.
