Hornbjargsviti

The Hornbjargsviti Lighthouse on Hornstrandir operated by Ferðafélag Íslands (The Iceland Touring Association, FÍ) accommodates a total of 40 people.
FACILITIES
The house is big and roomy. Guests sleep in beds and bunk beds in seven separate rooms. There is a good kitchen with all utilities and utensils, both electric and gas stove and running water. Plus there is a good charcoal grill outside the house.
In the house, there is a toilet and a shower as well as excellent facilities to dry wet clothes and shoes.
A good camping ground is located outside the lighthouse with access to toilets and cooking and dining facilities in an old sheep house.
OPENING SEASON AND ACCESS
On average, one can assume that the hut is open from mid-June to early August.
You can take a boat directly to Látravík from Norðurfjörður. Alternatively, you can travel by boat from Ísafjörður to Hornvík and hike from there.
The hut is closed and locked during the winter time.

There are numerous hiking trails in Hornstrandir. From Hornbjargsviti, the most popular one is the hike to Hornbjarg.
