The Norðurfjörður hut owned and operated by Ferðafélag Íslands (The Iceland Touring Association, FÍ) is called Valgeirsstaðir.

FACILITIES

The hut is a restored farmhouse in good condition. It is electrically heated, has two floors with five bedrooms and a dining room.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove with an oven, a microwave, all utensils, and running hot and cold water. There are two toilets in the house and a shower.

A good camping ground is by the house and close by is a restored sheep shed that can be used as a meeting room. There is a good charcoal grill outside and the whole area is a great meeting place for groups.

A small supermarket is only a 10 minutes' walking distance away and the renowned outdoor swimming pool at Krossnes.

OPENING SEASON AND ACCESS

The hut is accessible by all cars.

On average, one can assume that the hut opens in early June and closes in late August.

The hut is closed and locked during the winter time.

NEARBY SIGHTS

There are various hikes nearby, as well as the renowned outdoor swimming pool at Krossnes. From Norðurfjörður, you can sail to Hornbjargsviti, among other places.
